My interest in web design was born out of the desire to create web sites for theatre performers that I admired. I'm the type of person who would run home to google a performer's name if I was especially moved by their performance. It really shocked me to find out how many performers that I admired didn't have a website of their own. I knew that if I wanted to find out more information about them, others would too. Thus began the creation of my sites and my love for web design. Any professional web design training? Aside from my degree in art, my initial love and interest in web design prompted me to take several design classes and in 2004, I earned a CIW Web Professional Certification. Design philosophy... Very simply, I really love what I do and I also have a deep admiration for theatre and the people who make theatre so special. I believe that a strong internet presence is vital to the promotion of anyone's career or business. I also believe the "feel" of a website is the most important thing in the creation process. With the use of specific design elements, a person should have the "feel" of someone's personality or business as soon as they enter a website. One of the things I enjoy most is working with my clients to create the type of image he or she wants to create on the internet . What about fees? As far as rates go, I'm very reasonable. Instead of charging an outrageous per hour fee like most designers, I charge a very reasonable one time creation fee and am very willing to work out deals for the maintaintence and updates for the life of the site. How long does it take for an average site to be completed? A lot of the creation time will depend on how elaborate the site will be (how many pages, etc.) but for an average 5-7 page site, the creation time is approximately two weeks from the initial concept to the completed site being uploaded to the server. What, if anything, will I need to get to get started? An initial idea of the kind of look you'd like to portray is very helpful for me to understand you and your business a lot more. Do you want it light and fun? Classic and very business like? The more you're able to tell me about the image you'd like your site to portray will help me to develop the look and feel of your site. If you don't have any initial ideas, that's fine too. I also enjoy working with clients to help them discover what best suits their personality and personal style.
